To help our technicians carry out a safe, thorough, and compliant inspection at your rental property, please review the pre-service checklist below before our visit. Ensuring the property is ready helps prevent delays or wasted call-out fees.
Utilities & Access #
- Electricity & Gas: Confirm that both electricity and gas are connected and turned on at the property so our technicians can effectively test appliances, switchboards, and meters.
- Property Access: All areas of the property must be accessible, including locked bedrooms, sheds, and garages. If meters or switchboards require keys or access through a separate neighboring property, please make arrangements prior to our arrival.
- High Ceilings: If the property features high ceilings that require specialized tall ladders or extra assistance, please notify us ahead of time.
Clearance & Obstructions #
- Clear Work Areas: Remove any personal belongings, storage items, or furniture blocking access to electrical switchboards, gas connections, and smoke alarms.
- Cut Back Foliage: Trim any overgrown trees, bushes, or plants that obstruct outdoor gas meters, regulators, or switchboard enclosures.
- Aerial Power Cables: Ensure appropriate clearance around any aerial power supply lines to maintain compliance.
Heating & Safety Precautions #
- Turn Off Gas Heaters: Please switch off any gas heating appliances at least 1 hour before our scheduled service time. This cools down the unit components and allows our technicians to safely inspect and service the heater without risk of burns.
- Pets: Ensure all pets are securely locked away or supervised during the appointment to maintain a safe working environment.
- Adult Presence: An occupant or representative over the age of 18 must be present at the property during the inspection.
